Daniel Shiran (of blessed memory)Daniel Shiral was in the same grade as me in high school. We had all of our classes together (other than P.E.). He was a quiet boy, so I didn't know him very well, but I could easily tell he was smart. We were never close, and I hadn't heard from him, or about him since we graduated from high school. Yesterday I found out he was on frontline duty in Golani, because I got a call saying he was dead. Daniel died protecting Israel. Protecting us from Hezbollah in Lebanon. He was in an operation in southern Lebanese village of Markhava, when Hezbollah terrorists ambushed the Israeli soldiers and he was in the point position of his unit. I will always keep the few memories I have of him with me.
