It must have been the worst day of my life. First of all Brendon has been sick since the weekend. Secondly, it was raining outside. Then I started feeling sick around noon, and therefore left the base early. Adi came to Tel Aviv today as well to see more apartments in order to find one that he would like to rent...
I really didn't want to go back to Haifa alone, so I decided that since Adi was already in Tel Aviv I would just wait for him. I was walking around aimlessly at the Azrieli mall waiting for news from Adi. He called me every 15 minutes and told me more details about the apartment he was at, because he liked it but wasn't sure if this was "the one". I wished I was there with him, because I really like to be part of decisions (especially big ones). Later the phone rang again and I assumed it was gonna be Adi but it was my mom, and she told me about what the vet said about Brendon's situation. He had some kind of intestinal blockage and had a low body temp., which are symptoms of poisoning. This definitely makes me a lot more depressed. I couldn't imagine losing my little fur ball, and didn't want to. He just had to get bettter somehow. Now I was sitting on some boring bench almost in tears and decided to leave without Adi because it didn't seem like he would be done anytime soon, and he shouldn't really because it just put more pressure on his decision. And no one knows or hates pressure more than me. I went to the train station and was thirty seconds late for my train, so I had to wait another twenty minutes (great success).
I should've just gone home right after leaving the base. I wasted more than two hours at the mall without being able to enjoy it because of the way I felt, I got home later than usual AND without Adi.

When I finally got home I saw Brendon. He was breathing really really quick and his stomach would twist each time he inhaled. My mom and I freaked out because we were afraid that he won't have the strength to keep it fast like this for a lot longer and would just stop. I threw some hood on me and stayed with the army pants. There wan't time to waste anymore! We needed to save the cat!
When we got to the vet's no one was waiting to get in, so we were in the office as soon as possible. There were two cats hangin out there and I couldn't stop thinking how much I wanted Brendon to be able to do this, too. One cat was sitting on the vet's laptop. He was really, really pretty, but no cat could ever be compared to my Brendon's majestic beauty.
We figured out what caused the poisonning and also that there was no antidote.
The only thing we could do was give him support and hope his system would be able to fight this poison and get it out with the least amount of damage: making sure he was warm because his body temp. was low, and give him infusions and laxatives. The vet shaved his left front paw and set the needle there. He also took a blood test that my mom later brought to a lab that usually serves humans.
The vet wasn't very optimistic, and it didn't help us to be optimistic.

Before my mom went to the lab she dropped me off at home because it was getting late and I had to organize the things I wanted to take for the trip I'm gonna have tomorrow (department trip!).
The blood test results were ready in less than an hour and weren't as bad as we expected. However, we hospitalized Brendon for an unlimited time until he gets better (if he gets better). Wra.
