My section of the department I work in had an official "fun day" today, which means that we get to go somewhere random (and ideally have fun while there).
It certainly started well, because we got to wake up an hour later than usual, nevertheless, the day would have been better for me if everything took place closer to me and saved me my usual Haifa-Tel Aviv commute.
Around 10:45 we met at Koby's (my commander) apartment. He shares a very cute apartment with a flatmate, and only lives about five minutes from the base. After we got there he made breakfast for all of us (What commander makes breakfast for his soldiers?!?! We are sooo different of any other unit in the IDF), which was better than five star hotel. We enjoyed it a lot, and while we were eating and chatting Giora, the head of my department (Koby's commander), joined us, too.
It's weird, but he somehow reminds me of my dad. They're from the same generation and have the same kind of friendly vibe.
However! From his place we walked to a bowling alley. We walked really slow, and it probably took us about an hour to get there.
We saw the line "Happy Labor Day" everywhere from some reason (for those that don't know, there isn't a "labor day" in Israel).


I've only been to a bowling alley twice before this time and got the impression that it just wasn't meant for me because every freaking time I threw the ball it went straight to the gutter. Arr. This time it only happened three times though, and I was very proud of myself.
