Until around 10th grade I made Rosh Ha'Shana cards for family and friends, and sometimes even for just about everyone I knew and talked to. This year I didn't even think about Rosh Ha'Shana. Like, I knew I was gonna have some days off and was happy about it, but didn't really get the idea that it was a holiday. I really miss those days when a holiday brought this great atmosphere of warmness and familiarity with it.

However, what's a better way to start the new year than telling you about a giant octopus?!
Japanese scientists managed to take the first pictures of a giant octopus while attacking prey 900 meters deep off the coast of Japan's Bonin islands.
Until now the only information about the creature's behavior had been based on dead or dying octopus washed up on shore or captured in commercial fishing nets, because they live at such enormous depth and are used as a giant whales favorite food.
The giant squid is basically the biggest mollusc in the world - up to 18 meters (59 feet) in length.
The scientists also managed to get a 6 meter long part of one of it's tentacles, and it continued wriggling above the sea.
