The Carmel Forest

After my week in Tel Aviv and Eli's week in Jerusalem we wanted to feel a little bit of what only Haifa can offer:




A burned forest!
It was the first time I saw what the arsonists had done. It was so sad to see all these burned trees. Wra.







At least some parts survived...
We took all these pictures in the Khai-Bar preserve. It was actually kinda complicated to get in there because we went there during the day as you can see (unlike the other time which was in the middle of the night and it was completely abandoned), and that means guards were sitting near the entrance to take your money if you wanna go in. There was no way in hell we were going to pay just to get in there, so we parked the car on the road a little bit after the entrance and had to walk a lot to get to the good areas (since we couldn't get in there with the car).


This sign warns not to pass it because it's an eagle feeding area.
Hmmm... we read it... and passed it.


This was some sort of a bird of prey, though it didn't seem like an eagle to us. However I wish I could've get a closer picture.


We tried hard to find things that we could photograph, but it was actually pretty easy. There's so much life in this place. We really liked this metallic green bug.


Doesn't this tree look almost bible-ish?!


We decided this was a snake hole! I was close to collapsing it, so if it really was I'm glad I didn't do that.
