Friday - 4th of MarchWhen we were finally released for Shabbat (about two hours before shabbat started -- which was around 4 at the afternoon) I had to go guard the area around our tents. It's extremely obnoxious and frustrating to guard when you know everybody is celebrating, having a huge
Hafla, hanging out, and generally having fun.
I was standing a long ways from everyone else, all alone, with all the heavy crap on me, suffering from every possible pain imaginable. It was a long-ass hour. In the middle of guarding Arina came over for a minute or two to keep me company. She sat next to me (while I was standing with all the shit on my back) and just complained about how miserable SHE was and how HER back and legs hurt. Surprisingly, that didn't make me feel much better, but thinking about it now amuses me.
When I was done guarding there was still time left until we had dinner. Everyone also used the free time of Shabbat to take a long shower -- we even
enjoyed taking them because we weren't rushing like crazy to finish. I was really bothered by the way girls who were waiting for their turn in the shower stared at those who were showering (well, it really only bothered me when I was showering...) However, I was amazed to find out how sooo not perfect everyone is. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but this experience made me feel more comfortable with myself. It's comforting knowing that other people have flaws, too.
The Shabbat meal in the base was a very special event. First of all, we were wearing our A' uniform for it, so we were all smelling good, looking clean, and wearing make-up :) Secondly, there were a few religious girls with us in basic training, and hearing them singing (especially in this place) was really cute and charming. Other than that, everything looked really nice and there was tons of food (that was even tasty!!!) - lots of very unusual things... This dinner was fun!
Saturday - 5th of MarchThere was an option for a parents visit on Saturday (religious girls could do it on Friday morning). Normally these visits aren't longer than an hour. I don't know how or why we got this privilege, but we got two hours visits!
I was really excited about it, and also afraid that something would go wrong and my parents wouldn't find the base or the right entrance. It turned out that not only did they not have any problems finding the place, they were also 20 minutes early. When I finally saw them I was kinda confused and embarrassed. I didn't know what to say. I was wearing the goofy B' uniform, the hideous hat, and the obnoxious canteen. It was great to see everyone and equally awesome to be able to eat my mom's well-cooked chicken and potatoes that she had brought for me. I love my mom's food so much :) :) :)
I also got a bunch of sweets and stuff from my parents, and Kinder Bueno from Adi (did I mention how much I love Kinder Bueno?!?!). I brought Adi a little present myself! The loof that he loves so much! I also brought him a can of tuna, a can of halva, and a mandarin! My bunny and Elad took some pictures.

This girl didn't have a place to sit so she just decided to claim that trash can. Every time someone wanted to throw something away she had to get out of the way, though.
