People (especially women) in their 40's-50's are at an age in which they need to be good sons/daughters, take care of their elderly parents; at the same time, being good parents means also taking care of their own not-yet-independent kids. Hence, they are under lots and lots of pressure, and often they don't have time/are too tired/forget to take care of themselves, which puts them at bigger risk to have a heart attack (or all kinds of other stress-related illnesses). The HMO "Klalit" came to this conclusion after a lot of research (obviously you can't understand something like this just from being a human being), and in order to show that "they are here for you" decided to start a new project that helps to deal with the problem. Here's their great solution: supporting those people by a series of 8 meetings (something like a support group), where they can feel free to talk about it, and are told that they should also think about themselves and take care of themselves.
My reaction:
In my words their solution is: lets take more of their time and money while they hardly have any of either, and do the thing we're the best at: telling them what THEY need to do (which they already know)... not, god forbid, helping them take care of their parents (by even making some phonecalls instead of them).
