Was also my brother birthday! He's 13. So I'm using this opportunity to tell him "Mazal Tov" again (he'll get it in the next 13 years I hope). I really feel bad about it. It's Bar Mitsva and not just another birthday. I also feel like he doesn't get enough attention because everybody is so busy. I know he understands it though. He's a smart kid. I wish I could make him feel better about things. Me with my studying and my life. Dad is busy with work. Mom's busy with grandma who's in a very bad situation. I don't want him to be sad and lonely. At least I'm done with school soon. I hope I can make it up a bit for him during the time I'll have between school and the army.
We didn't really celebrate. There was no point to do the whole ceremony in the synagogue when the closest people (family) can't come. But we let Elad to choose. He was glad he didn't have to read in front of a bunch of people that he doesnt really know or want to know. I think it was the right thing to do. I'm glad we didn't make him do something that he didn't want to do. I know he might regret it one day but I still believe it's wrong to force a kid do that. It's his day and he should do whatever he feels like doing (as long it's not killing me).
Anyhow, it's not like he didn't get anything. He got an amazing electric guitar with Adi's help a few months ago. We also have plans to go to London at the end of July.
